The Disable all macros except digitally signed macros setting is recommended. To change to this setting, use the following steps for every Windows profile on every Windows workstation that will be using Word integration with Epic:

1. Exit Epic on the station.

2. Open Word on the station.

3. In Word, access File, Options, Trust Center, Trust Center Settings.

4. Select Disable all macros except digitally signed macros and click Ok.

5. Click Ok again on the Word Options screen.

6. Close Word.

7. Open Epic.

8. Open Word through Epic either by going to Configure, Attachment, Templates, select one, Actions, Edit Template or else by creating a new document attachment at the client level by Locating a client, accessing the Attachments list, New, Document.

9. When Word opens, access File, Info, and select the down arrow next to Enable Content.

10. Select Advanced Options.

11. On the Security Options screen, verify that the Signature frame displays Applied Systems, Inc.

12. Select Trust all documents from this Publisher, Ok.

As an additional measure for Epic browser access only, add the following locations within File, Options, Trust Center, Trusted Locations: 

• C:\Program Files (x86)\Applied Systems
• C:\Program Files (x86)\Applied Systems\Applied Epic Word Add-in
